MUCH MORE THAN GREAT BEACHES IN RAB: THE FRUX PATH, A BEATUFUL TREKKING WAY!

Perhaps not everyone knows that on the island of Rab there are many walks that can be done. We usually explore the Dundo nature reserve by bike, which is located near to Casa Leda, but one day we decided to change and we discovered there are 3 trekking routes that are part of the project “Rab Archaeological (T) races”.

The project was born from the idea of creating an open-air museum: so 3 educational paths were created along which there are 30 archaeological sites, with related information panels, which connect 3 areas of Rab: Kampor, Lopar and Supetarska Draga. A nice idea for an alternative day or for spring days. The routes are also suitable for children who will have fun reading the information posted along the route.

We tried the route that leads from Lopar to Supertarska Draga and which can also be done starting from this last one. Starting from Lopar, the route starts behind the San Marino campsite: upon entering you have to cross it all the way to the end to exit the fence. You will find the signs so you can’t go wrong!

The route starts uphill and offers a wonderful view of the beach called “Paradise beach”; once you reach the top, the typical dry stone walls signal the beginning of an area rich in vegetation where you will meet only so many sheeps. This area is called Fruga. Along the path on the right you will find an area characterized by soil erosion on which it is worth lingering. The trail continues along dry stone walls and then descends towards Supertarska Draga to the Church of St. Peter.

Along the way you will come to a crossroads where other paths start on the left leading to the Kamenjak area.

Here are the photos and the characteristics of the route! Have a good walk!
